Mondays Meme: Featured Post Winner

The memories of Chef E. won today's featured post:

My brother looked sadly at his bike as it lay under the tires of mom's car. We had just barely left it hanging a bit over the dive, but mostly on the side walk. My mom was just learning how to drive. She made a sharp turn when backing up.

I could feel tears streaming down my face. Not because I had left it there, but because he and I had to share that bike. Who knew if daddy could even straighten it out. Finally he worked on it for about a week, and off each of us road. A bit wobbly, but hey kids have a way of making fun out of mistakes. I cannot believe my mom did not know how to drive all those years either!

True story!

"Dad, how much longer?" My son regretted that one jump off the wrong rock that sent his bike flying. As his Dad sweated over the back wheel, my oldest son had to comment, "I think it's time to go back to your tricycle." Picture an upset 7 year old getting ready to pounce on the wise guy brother. Good thing that mama knew when it was time for brownies.
