Fridays Poetry: Featured Post Winner

"Here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a memory..." Remember that Eurythmics song? Once I saw this photograph, those lyrics kept popping in my head. Looking forward to reading everyone's poems inspired by this interesting photograph.

Congratulations radhika92 on your winning poem.

have you ever noticed,
how water droplets
slip into each other?
sliding along a smooth surface
until they find one of their kind
and slide in
adding an arm or leg to the amoeba.
surreptitiously seeking
slipping
always moving towards
completion?

"Letting Go"

Slowly the droplet
oozes along the safety of the leaf
until
it cannot hold
rushing
into the pool of water.

water
runs
water
falls
water
stands
water
puddles

water is wet
water is wild
water is free
water makes a
new path
water is in
charge

This is a couple days late. Sorry but poetry is tough for me so I had to work on this one...the photo is so cool I didn't want to pass it up. So, here it is....

the rain is done
the water pools

nowhere to go
invisible barrier beneath
distorted reflections
of sky and fence above

displaying visions
of something else
I wonder at the
seashells I see in you
