Mondays Meme: Featured Post Winner

morganna, I love words too :) ~ Congratulations for your winning entry:

Words. I have been fascinated with words for as long as I can remember. Fitted into sentences, phrases, poems; letters substituted to make nonsense words; spelled backwards; any way you can think of, I love words.

No matter how loud he protested, I emphasized to my son that his story had to be written. I felt his frustration and worry about whether he could get anything down on the page. I told him to think of individual words, a mix of adjectives, adverbs, nouns, and verbs. After we put together an eclectic list, it was fun to see the story that came together. That was our first brainstorming session.

One day I was feeling quite blue
I didn't have a thing to do!
Needing to exercise my brain
I began a word-scramble game
And it entertained the children too!

Each word sat before me in blue
Nouns, mostly, but conjunctions too
My tale starred a dog
My friend, the pig, and a frog
In a spaceship with a big dinosaur - it's true!

Then our game ended so soon
And the dog rested peaceful on the moon
And I found it was true
My blue was no longer blue
So I sat back and practiced my croon
