I remember how cold it was walking those twenty blocks to school each morning. My friends and I would walk briskly past all our favorite haunts. Even during the coldest winter, the park would look inviting to us as a place to hang out and talk. We were silly girls in a way when we would make footprints in the snow without boots. For some reason, we forgot the cold for those few minutes. Soon enough, our chilled feet would remind us to start running back to our warm homes.
